What is Greenpeace?

Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action.
Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organization that acts to change attitudes and behavior  to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace by: Catalyzing an energy revolution, defending our oceans, protecting the world's ancient forest, working for disarmament and peace, creating a toxic free future and campaigning for sustainable agriculture.

Greenpeace is present in 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and the Pacific.

To maintain its independence they do not accept donations from governments or corporations but relies on contributions from individual supporters and foundation grants.

Greenpeace has been campaigning since 1971. They expose environment criminals and challenge government and corporations when they fail to live up to their mandate to safeguard our environment and our future.

They have no permanent allies or enemies. They use research, lobbying, and quiet diplomacy to pursue their goals, as well as high-profile, non-violent conflict to raise the level and quality of public debate.

They believe that the struggle to preserve the future of our planet is not about them. It's about us. Greenpeace speaks for 2.8 million supporters worldwide, and encourages many millions more than that to take action every day.

Their goal is to “ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its diversity.”

I think that Greenpeace is an amazing organization because they don´t stay only in words, they act, and they fight for what they believe. I really like this organization and i hope that when grow up i can be part of this movement and fight for the environment.
